This is an opportunity to see and comment on the commercial work done by Peter Anger dba Helios Studio over the last thirty years. Rather than update my website, I thought I would post designs on this blog. Please feel free to ask questions or make comments about the designs. Critical advice is more valuable than praise.

One of my favorite photographs Fishing at Montauk I'm gone fishing now, most of the time.......
When I looked at my book of commercial work this graphic comp stood out, I remember talking with the client and Pat Hanna the designer of the campaign and there was just something about the simplicity of the work we did for this Socket advertising campaign that stood out above the other works. Hope I have another twenty or so years doing this kind of work - the last thirty years have been some of the best years of my life.
Pat Hanna who is the best client a commercial photographic artist could have directed this photo-shoot. It was a really fun relaxed session and we new exactly what we wanted to do because Pat and I had talked about just what the image needed to do. It was a beautiful day and all the models were in a good mood and we were ready the minute everyone showed up. The session took about five images to get this shot. A perfect image fitted for its use and delivered to my favorite client just way we wanted to covey the message. It is a blessing to work with someone like Pat Hanna who plans a creative session to the point of its basic message and nothing is in the image that is not basic to the message. When nothing is left to chance the results are stunning and magic happens............
Helios Studio designed the Green Hills Literary Lantern Logo and published most of the cover designs until they went digital in the late 2000's.
This cover design I did won an Addy Award for best four color cover design.
As did the banner for this blog of a panorama of Columbia College in 2000,
that won a best color photography Addy that year.
One last dance design. Cedar Lake Two became Missouri Contemporary Ballet started and run by Karen Grundy. This is an ad design I did for Columbia Home & Life Style magazine for one of the first performances they did. I designed the original logo and did most of the design work to help get Missouri Contemporary Ballet started.
